Grill Ideas from IBD Outdoor Rooms

At IBD Outdoor Rooms, we specialize in creating outdoor kitchens, and we take pride in designing unique spaces with features you will not find in the average outdoor kitchen. One of these features is our Kamado Kaddy or Kradle counters. Over the past few years, grills like the Kamado Joe and other brands have become more and more popular, but these appliances can be difficult to fit into the typical outdoor kitchen. This is why we started offering the Kamado Kaddy or Kradle counters, and we have had wonderful feedback from our customers about this option. We would like to tell you more about this feature and the grills that fit into these counters.

What kinds of Kamado Kaddy or Kradle options do you offer?

IBD Outdoor Rooms has designed four different styles of these Kaddy counters, which are all ready to finish with brick, stone, tile or stucco. You can also have your counter factory finished with our unique and low-maintenance Granitech finish with a base of pure granite granules. The San Juan model is the simplest counter and will fit large kamado-style grills of any brand. The Montego model and the Largo model also fit large kamados and offer generous counter space as well as a choice of doors, drawers, cooler pullouts, or storage bins. Our personal favorite model, the Kahuna, is an island that allows you to showcase your cooking skills. With a rounded raised dining ledge, you have space for four barstools for friends and family to sit around the kamado-style grill and watch you cook. This model also comes with an umbrella holder if you need extra shade.

What exactly is a kamado-style grill?

A thick-walled ceramic cooker, a kamado-style grill is similar to the ancient grills used in Asia. These grills give meats, fish, and vegetables a smoky and rich flavor from charcoal as air flows through the body of the cooker. You can use this type of cooker to grill, roast, smoke, and even bake. One of the most popular brands of kamado-style grills is The Kamado Joe. Available in four different sizes, the Kamado Joe is safe to use as its ceramic surface never gets as hot as a regular grill. You can adjust the air flow systems to get the exact temperature you need. One of our favorite features of the Kamado Joe is its patented Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking System, which is a multi-level half rack design that allows you to cook different foods at different temperatures at the same time.

Consider a Beautiful New Mailbox

Looking for an easy way to make your house stand out on your street? A new attractive stone or brick mailbox can add a lot to the entrance to your property, and IBD Outdoor Rooms is proud to create mailbox posts by using the same design and construction expertise we use to create outdoor kitchens and fireplaces. Not only do our mailboxes boost your curb appeal, but they also can help you express your personal and individual taste. We would like to tell you a few reasons why you should consider a beautiful new mailbox for your home.

Add to your curb appeal.

If your mailbox is an old, ordinary, black mailbox in front of your house next to the street, it really cannot be considered as “curb appeal.” It may even detract from the appearance of your property. A new stone or brick decorative mailbox is sure to impress potential buyers when you decide to put your house on the market.

Enjoy a safe investment.

With an mailbox designed by IBD Outdoor Rooms, you will not have to worry about extensive property damage in the case of an accident. We incorporate a unique mounting system, which is designed to shear away if a vehicle hit the mailbox at a high speed. This type of system is required in many areas, and this “break-away” feature will save you from suffering a lot of damage in the unfortunate case of an automobile accident.

Match the style of your home to give your property an “estate” look.

As E-Zine Home Improvement  says, being able to have a mailbox designed to complement the style of your house is a huge benefit to adding a new mailbox from IBD to your property. We can take a detail from the architectural design of your home to create a beautiful mailbox that coordinates with your house, which gives an upscale look to your entire property.

Look unique on your street.

An IBD Outdoor Rooms decorative mailbox will really make your house stand out in your neighborhood. If the majority of your neighbors have the average black mailbox, it will be so easy to give your friends a definite way to find your home.

Outdoor Wood-Burning Fireplaces Are Terrific!

Not only is it nice to be reminded of those times, It can be very relaxing to unwind at the end of the day in front of a wood-burning fire in your backyard. If this sounds good to you, IBD Outdoor Rooms can easily turn this into your reality by installing an outdoor wood-burning estate fireplace by your patio, on your deck or porch, or as a free-standing gathering place in your yard. THE SENSORY EXPERIENCE

If you love the sounds of crackling wood and the smell of it burning, you already know how much a wood-burning fireplace can improve any atmosphere. For fans of wood-burning fires, a gas fireplace cannot take the place of the sensory experience of burning wood. You might not be happy with an outdoor gas fireplace if you prefer burning wood.

LESS EXPENSIVE TO INSTALL

Adding a wood-burning fireplace to your outdoor living area is much less expensive than adding a gas one, especially if you do not have gas lines. It can be quite costly to install gas lines from your gas main to your outdoor fireplace, according to Do It Yourself. Wood-burning fireplaces are also cheaper to construct, so you will be saving money by adding an outdoor wood fireplace instead of an outdoor gas fireplace.

CHEAPER FUEL

The price of natural gas continues to rise, which can be concerning if you live on a budget. When you do not know how much the cost of gas will be from one month to the next, it makes it hard to set aside an amount of money to pay your gas bill. One of the best things about burning wood is that firewood is relatively inexpensive, and if you have access to it, you can even cut your own firewood for free.

Although a wood-burning outdoor fireplace does require a bit more maintenance such as cleaning up ashes and storing firewood, the benefits can definitely outweigh these drawbacks. If you would like to add a wood-burning fireplace to your outdoor living space, contact us at IBD Outdoor Rooms. Our staff is happy to tell you all about the options we have to give you the outdoor fireplace of your dreams.

The Benefits of Outdoor Wood-Fired Ovens

If you have never eaten a pizza that was baked in a wood-fired oven before, you are missing out! Many pizzerias use these types of ovens, and the popularity of these cooking appliances has grown so much that people are installing a wood-fire oven in their outdoor kitchens. When you choose IBD Outdoor Rooms to design your outdoor kitchen, you have the option to include a wood-fire oven. You never have to worry about it being too cold to use a wood-fire oven because of its design. These ovens resemble a large round chamber, and the wood is burned inside the chamber. The fire produces very high temperatures with a range between 500 and 700 degrees Fahrenheit. If you and your family love to eat pizza, you can already imagine the benefits of having an outdoor wood-fired oven, but we would like to tell you more about the advantages of these ovens. The Benefits of Outdoor Wood-Fired Ovens - Concord NC - IBD Outdoor Rooms

You can cook pizza much more quickly in a wood-fired oven.

Whether you are preparing a pre-made, homemade, or frozen pizza, your oven cannot get any hotter than 500 degrees, so it can take up to 45 minutes (including time to preheat the oven) for the pizza to be ready. Depending on the thickness of the dough, you can cook a pizza in a wood-fired oven in just two to five minutes.

You can cook just about any food in a wood-fired oven.

According to The Alternative Daily, you can cook more than just pizza in a wood-fired oven. Good foods to try include breads, roasts of any type of meat and vegetables, and casseroles.

Your food retains more nutrients when cooked in a wood-fired oven.

When you cook fruits and vegetables over an open flame in a wood-fired oven, they cook very quickly, which helps them retain certain nutrients and antioxidants. Studies have shown that longer cooking times deplete the nutritional value of food.

You will save energy by cooking in a wood-fired oven.

You do not need any electricity or gas to use a wood-fired oven, and for the environmentally conscious, this is quite a plus. If you are looking for a way to reduce your energy consumption, cooking in a wood-fired oven is a good choice.
